Stationery Storage Update

I have an exciting update to share about how I store my stationery goods. I finally managed to change the way I'm keeping everything on my desk! In a way, it's not just an update, but also an upgrade.

I like to have my stationery supplies close to me so that I can reach for them easily and use them frequently. Until recently, I had most of my stickers and washi tapes stored in old boxes.

While keeping them this way got the job done, it definitely wasn't convenient. As sturdy as the pink Hobonichi box was, I had to open it all the way to get to the pile of stickers, which I then had to flip through one by one to see which sheet I wanted to use. The smaller box that I kept the washi tape rolls in became flimsy, and it quickly outgrew the collection as well.

I knew I needed a different way to keep my supplies together, so I jumped at the chance of visiting a local Muji store during the holiday break. I had heard a lot about their transparent, plastic storage boxes that I had seen so many other people use for various purposes. But when I got there, I found this beauty instead!

The clean lines drew my attention right away and the movable partition inside made the box a lot more functional than what I initially expected. Once I devoted some time to reorganizing, my collection actually looked pretty neat.

The Muji store also had the plastic version of this same box, but I'm glad I went with this choice in the end. This wooden box gives me the same usability while keeping all of the washi patterns concealed when I'm working on other tasks at my desk (distraction free!).

As for the pile of sticker sheets I had, I came up with a different solution. I decided to take an unused journal and use some of the above washi tape to keep the sheets inside. This way, I can easily swap them out with new ones without damaging the paper.

This is only the first step towards transforming the desk area, as I'm determined to make my creative corner in the apartment as inspirational as possible. It may be a long time before I'm truly satisfied with the creative space I have, but I won't let that stop me from slowly working on it piece by piece. I'm looking forward to using this new stationery storage system, and there will be more updates to come!
